Enter Revenue Data
The following steps assume you are using the Standard View Ribbon Menu option to enter the revenue calculation details.
The revenue calculation data may be entered for a specific WBS level such as level 1 for the entire project. You may also have a WBS attribute field defined (see Add Project User Fields) to identify a contract line item number (CLIN) or other user defined field to identify specific WBS elements for management purposes. The revenue calculation data could be entered for these specific WBS elements.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
- Select your project from the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
- Expand the WBS hierarchy as needed.
- Select the WBS element row in the top pane.
- Select the Revenue tab in the bottom pane.
- Select the from the dropdown. Select either or .
- If you selected for the Contract Type, enter the percent or value.
If you selected for the Contract Type, enter the .
- Select in the dropdown.
- Select an date. This could reflect the project's start date or a specific effective date should the revenue factor change over the duration of the project.

Select either or from the dropdown and enter the factor or value in the corresponding field.
Tip:
Set the rate factor to 1 when you don't want to apply a factor. The general format for the rate factor is a percentage where an entry of 1.02 is 2 percent.
- Optional. Set the factor option check boxes.
- Click the check box when you want to routinely update the revenue factor or value every time the current reporting period is updated. When you enable this option, the Effectivity Date is disabled because it is automatically updated when the project's reporting calendar is advanced. You can update the factor or value for the current reporting at any time in the list of revenue factors. In the applicable Revenue Factor row, click in the Revenue cell to update the factor or value.
- Click the check box when you want to set a revenue factor or value beginning with the project's start date.
- Click the check box when you want to apply a different factor for a specific effective date.

Click . This adds your settings as a new row in the list of revenue factors.
Tips:
You can modify the Revenue Type, Revenue factor or value, Incep to Date option, or Override options at any time for a given row in the list of revenue factors. Click in the applicable cell to update the settings.
To delete a revenue factor row, select the row and click .
You may see a warning message appear below the Contract Type settings once you enter your revenue factors. A warning message displays when the fee to date for actual costs incurred plus the projected fee for the estimate to complete (the estimate at completion) exceeds the contract fee percent or value (cost plus fixed fee) or contract value (firm fixed price). It may be necessary to adjust the revenue factor for future periods to reduce the fee or stop taking the fee.
- Click in the Ribbon Menu.
The revenue calculation data may be entered for the different elements of cost for the project such as labor, material, other direct costs, or subcontract. The options available are determined based on how you have set up the system level element of cost categories. See Manage Element of Cost.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
- Select your project from the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
- Select a WBS element row in the top pane.
- Select the Revenue tab in the bottom pane.
- Select the from the dropdown. Select either or .
- If you selected for the Contract Type, enter the percent or value.

- Select in the dropdown.
- Select the applicable category for the from the dropdown.
